Academica Group has this report from last week's Ontario College Information Fair, where Mohawk College showed off its new Future Ready action figure photo booth. The report credits Mohawk staff with being very informative and comments on the College's use of iPads to allow potential students to access information about Mohawk programs. The annual fair is an opportunity for colleges to share information about programs with potential students.

Rick Hansen's 25th Anniversary Relay rolls into Hamilton on November 12th
Join the End of Day Celebrations at the Fennell Campus on the 12th
Be a part of the journey. Rick Hansen's 25th Anniversary Relay will make its way through Hamilton on the afternoon of Saturday, Nov. 12 and the morning of Sunday, Nov. 13.
It's been 25 years since the Man in Motion's historic cross-Canada journey inspired millions to make the world more accessible and inclusive. The 25th Anniversary Relay, which began on August 24, 2011 in Cape Spear, Newfoundland will make its way across Canada ending in Vancouver on May 22, 2012. Along the way, the Relay will travel through more than 600 communities and log more than 12,000 kilometres.
This time around, it's not Rick but 7,000 Medal-Bearers who have taken up the challenge to wheel, run, walk or bike along stretches of highway and roads all across the country to complete the Relay. Each Medal-Bearer will carry the single Rick Hansen Medal that was produced by the Royal Canadian Mint.
Mohawk's Fennell Campus will serve as the end of day celebration stop for Greater Hamilton during the Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary Relay. The festivities will get underway at 3 p.m. and continue to 5:30 p.m. on the 12th. The Relay will depart from the College on Sunday.

Library launches BIZHub for Business students and faculty
The Library is launching a new business-focused space for Mohawk Business students and faculty this Monday, Oct. 31.
The BIZHub, formerly the e-Library, will be your new hot spot for finding and accessing business-specific information and library services.
As the information centre of the business wing, the BIZHub will offer
- Info Services - assignment help, library chat, consultations with expert staff, and tech support
- Resources - Business program LibGuides, key business books and magazines
- Business Services - Business Tech and Info Talks, a math tutoring service, and The Boardroom as a bookable space

In the news: Students get Fit for Future
The Brantford Expositor has this story about Mohawk College's Fit for Future competition that took place on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the College's Elgin Street campus in Brantford. The competition pitted high school students from eight area schools against each other as they raced through fitness challenges based on standards expected of police officers, correctiions officers and security professionals. The competition highlighted the college's justice and wellness programs that graduate students into careers in corrections, policing and protective services. A 10-member all female team from Assumption College took top honours in the event. Assumption College was the only all female team to participate in the event.
